GeneralFAQ-01 — FAQ-05
What are your hours?
Pidgeon's Gun Shop is open 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM daily. We're located at 3088 Ethan Allen Hwy (Route 7) in New Haven, VT 05472. Phone: (802) 453-2104.
Do I need an appointment for gunsmithing?
Most work can be dropped off during business hours without an appointment. For larger jobs — full restorations, custom barrel work, or extensive stockmaking — calling ahead helps us plan the bench time. (802) 453-2104.
Do you do FFL transfers for online purchases?
Yes. Pidgeon's is a licensed FFL dealer and can receive firearms shipped from other dealers. Call us before your purchase ships so we can give you our FFL number and confirm the transfer fee. Do not ship without confirming in advance.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover by phone or in-store. Cash is also welcome. For mail-order purchases, call us at (802) 453-2104.
Do you buy or trade used firearms?
Yes, used firearms are part of our inventory. Call or stop in during business hours to discuss trades or sales. Condition and make/model will determine pricing.
GunsmithingFAQ-06 — FAQ-09
What types of firearms do you work on?
Handguns, rifles, and shotguns — all platforms. Remington shotguns and rifles are a particular specialty. We also service Marlin lever-actions as a designated Marlin ProShop. Revolvers, semi-autos, bolt-actions, pump-actions — all welcome.
Do you offer bluing and plating?
Yes. Hot bluing, cold bluing, and nickel plating all done on-site. Commonly used for restoration work and to return older firearms to a like-new appearance. Call to discuss your specific firearm before dropping it off.
Can you do barrel threading?
Yes — barrel threading, crowning, and chambering are all part of our barrel work offerings. We also do barrel fitting on a range of platforms. Call to confirm compatibility for your specific firearm.
Do you service firearms from out of state?
Yes. We service firearms for dealers across New England, New York, and Canada. Walk-in customers from outside Vermont are always welcome. For mail-in service work, call us first to discuss the job and shipping options.
